<p>The optical document reader is a computer input device, which provides quality scanning of documents with the help of a digital camera under normal light in a working environment. The device features the shape of a truncated irregular four-sided pyramid with a surface made of transparent, frosted material. The frosted surface of the pyramid ensures uniform luminosity inside the device under adequate light conditions at the workplace, thus providing suitable illumination of the document for high-quality scanning with a digital camera. On the base (3) of the truncated pyramid there is a rectangular part, where the document for scanning is positioned. The remaining part of the basic surface is covered by a non-transparent panel. A scanning element of the digital camera is integrated into the top of the truncated pyramid, at such a distance that the efficiency of the digital camera sensors is maximised. The program for transferring data to the computer eliminates the distortion of the digital picture.</p> |
