The invention concerns a direct fuel injection design for an engine (1) with at least a cylinder (2), a piston (3), a cylinder head (16), comprising a direct fuel injection device in at least a jet having an axis of symmetry, the piston (3) having a head (6) whereof a substantially planar first end surface (7) defines a combustion chamber (8) with the corresponding cylinder (2) of the engine (1), and whereof a second end surface (9) defines a cavity (10) with the crankcase of the engine (1). Said design provides that the engine comprises an injection device (15) which is positioned on the cylinder head (16) opposite the first end surface (7) of the piston (3) such that the axis of symmetry of the jet is counter-current to the flow direction of the mixture. |
