A method of manufacturing a vibrationproof bush (10) formed by fixing, by vulcanized forming, a rubber elastic body (16) on the outer peripheral surface of a metallic inner tube (12), comprising the steps of pressing a diameter-reducing jig (40) against the axial end part (18) peripheral surface of the inner tube (12) while allowing to perform a swing motion so as to reduce the diameter of the end part (18) by cold plastic working, and pressing a diameter-increasing jig (50) against the diameter-reduced end part (18) end surface (19) while allowing to perform a swing motion so as to expand the end surface (19) by cold plastic working, whereby the inner diameter of the metallic tube body used for the vibrationproof bush can be reduced at the end part thereof while assuring a large area at the end surface thereof.
