PURPOSE: A memory built-in micro controller is provided to reduce a decoding time of an address although a memory capable of changing an address map in accordance with an operation mode of a processor is built-in. CONSTITUTION: An internal memory(30)(flash memory) and an external memory(40) are accessed by 24-bit address being output from a CPU(10). At one point, only one out of the internal memory(30) and the external memory(40) is accessed by a memory selection circuit(20). A micro controller(1) uses the internal memory(30) as a boot memory or a program/data memory, if necessary. When the internal memory(30) is used as a boot memory, the external memory(40) is used as a program/data memory, and when the internal memory(30) is used as a program/data memory, the external memory(40) is used as a boot memory. At this time, the micro controller(1) needs a proper operation mode division and must set a memory address area be different in accordance with each operation mode.
