The invention relates to a method for the production of a moulded body made from biologically degradable material, in particular from recyclable raw material in a thermal pressing method with application of biological fibrous materials, in particular cellulose fibres, water and starch. The proportion of amylopectin in a starch fraction is not less than 70 wt. % (up to 30 % amylose), fibrous materials with a comminution rate of in the range up to 35 DEG in a proportion of 5 wt. % to 60 wt. % based on a dry mass of the mixture are used and separating and/or thickening agents and/or hydrophobic agents are added to the mixture and the above subjected to a mixing and/or kneading process before the thermal pressing method. The invention further relates to a moulded body made by the above method.
