PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamp-on type ultrasonic flow meter with high measuring sensitivity. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic transmitter is so constituted that an ultrasonic oscillator is attached on an inclined face of a wedge-shaped ultrasonic transmitting material provided with a bottom face and at least one inclined face forming an acute angle against the bottom face, and a clamp-on type ultrasonic flow meter is constituted using the ultrasonic transmitter characterized in that the ultrasoinc transmitting material is so constituted that an ultrasonic wave applied to the ultrasonic transmitting material from the ultrasonic oscillator is transmitted in the direction perpendicular to the ultrasonic oscillator attached inclined face, and that it includes a first ultrasonic transmitting material where a plurality of surfaces in parallel with the ultrasonic oscillator attached inclined face are aligned and formed on the bottom face and a second ultrasonic transmitting material made of an elastic material or a plastic material.
