PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head having excellent shielding performance by utilizing a core holder indispensable for holding a core. SOLUTION: A core 52 to which a coil bobbin 53 is attached is held by a plate-like core holder 51 to form a core unit 5. A gap between a shield case 1 and the core unit 5 is filled with a resin layer. The core holder 51 is a laminated composite body constituted of a plate-like magnetic body and a plate-like nonmagnetic body. The core holder 51 is overlapped on the whole internal face of the sidewall of the shielding case 1. The shielding case 1 and the platy magnetic body of the core holder 51 are made of Permalloy (R).
