METHOD FOR PRODUCING LEATHERY SHEET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eco-friendly method for producing a leathery sheet having good durability and flexibility without using organic solvent. SOLUTION: The method for producing a leatherly sheet comprises (1) a step to produce a sheet with fibers for producing ultrafine fibers and composed of a combination of two or more kinds of polymers having different solubility in alkaline aqueous solution, (2) a step to apply a polymer A to the sheet, (3) a step to apply a polymer B by impregnating an aqueous dispersion of the polymer B to the sheet and (4) a step to develop the ultrafine fibers by treating the sheet with an alkaline aqueous solution. The steps are performed in the order described above or reversing the order of the steps 2 and 3.
