PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely electrify a photosensitive body to a prescribed potential by maintaining an electrifying brush in a satisfactory state and also by an electrifier using the electrifying brush. SOLUTION: In this electrophotographic device, a voltage control circuit 31a detects an electrifying current which is made to flow between a bias power source 31 and an electrifying brush 5 at the time of performing electrification and changes the potential of the bias voltage in the bias power source 31 so that the electrifying current becomes a predetermined current value. As a result, since the electrifying capability of the electrifying brush 5 can be prevented from being changed even when various conditions at the time of performing electrification are changed, a photosensitive belt 1 can surely be charged to a prescribed surface potential by the electrifying brush 5.
