PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal that has a simple appearance and can prevent intrusion of undesirable static electricity and water. SOLUTION: In the foldable mobile terminal where a couple of cases 11, 12 are connected turnably around a turning section 13 between a closing state where the cases 11, 12 are overlapped and an opening state where they are parted from each other, an opening/closing recognition switch 24 detecting an opening/closing state of a couple of the cases 11, 12 is placed at a position not exposed externally independently of the opening/closing state of a couple of the cases 11, 12.
