PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing device or the like for guiding a portable terminal to a broadcasting area so that the portable terminal outside the broadcasting area can receive broadcasting. SOLUTION: The information providing device 100, which provides contents to the portable terminal of a mobile communication system having a broadcasting receiving function, is provided with a contents storage part 147 for storing contents, broadcasting transmitting part 120 for broadcasting the contents in the predetermined broadcasting area, a position information acquiring part 133 for acquiring the present position of the portable terminal, a navigation information generating part 135 for generating guide information for the portable terminal to receive broadcasting in the broadcasting area corresponding to the present position, and a communication part 110 for transmitting the relevant guide information through the communication network of the mobile communication system to the portable terminal.
