<p>A composition for polymer gel electrolytes which comprises as major ingredients (A) a polymer which is derived from a polymer having in the molecule a polyvinyl alcohol unit represented by the following general formula (1) and having an average degree of polymerization of 20 or higher and in which part or all of the hydroxyl groups of the polyvinyl alcohol unit have been replaced with a cyano-substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group, (B) an ion-conductive salt, (C) a compound having two or more reactive double bonds per molecule, and (D) an organic electrolytic liquid.
