<p>An instrument for use in collecting and recovering a liquid secretion in an oral cavity, characterized in that it comprises a hydrophilic absorbent containing a bactericidal and/or antibacterial component and allows a procedure comprising collecting a liquid secretion which is disinfected or has antibacterial activity into the hydrophilic absorbent, directing the resultant hydrophilic absorbent toward an opening for recover, and pressurizing the absorbent to recover the liquid secretion having been absorbed. The instrument can be used, in collecting a liquid secretion in an oral cavity for the purpose of determining D-glucose in the liquid secretion, for collecting the secretion simultaneously with the disinfection thereof or disinfecting bacteria in the oral cavity in advance by a bactericide and thereby collecting a liquid secretion suppressed in the decomposition of D-glucose by bacteria, and thus for achieving rapid sterilization, collection and recover of a specimen. Further, the instrument is a simple laminate type instrument which can be manufactured using inexpensive members and by a very easy method.</p> |
