<p>A system (10), apparatus (50, 90) including on-board diagnostics (28, 68), and methods are provided for sensing the effects of different fuel quality in charge-by-charge, and cylinder-by-cylinder variation, and using a sensor (20, 60, 100, 116, 113) and feedback to adjust the fueling to reduce the variation between charges in each cylinder to improve performanace, reduce emissions, and increasing the operative life of a compression ignition engine.</p> |
