The multi-spindle drilling unit has a small electric motor (2) for each drilling spindle (8) as a drive to create a cutting motion. Each drilling spindle is fitted in an extension of the electric motor shaft (4), by which it is driven directly. The feed of each spindle may be implemented by a corresponding axial displacement of its motor.
