PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a means for recording even additional information on optimum recording power, etc., while maintaining compatibility with conventional address signal. SOLUTION: An ADIP signal, which has been previously recorded on a recording medium, is composed of two kinds of ADIP signals of types A and B. The type A is composed of 42 bits of a 4-bit portion synchronization signal sync, a 16-bit portion for cluster number in complete form, a 4-bit sector portion for number, and a 18-bit BCH parity exactly identical way to the original ADIP signal, while the type B is composed of 42 bit portion of a 4-bit portion for synchronization signal sync, a high-order 8-bit portion for cluster number, a low-order 8-bit portion for cluster number, 8-bit portion for additional information, and a 4-bit sector portion for number. Optimum recording power, etc., can be recorded in the additional information. |
