PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably suppress generation of abnormal combustion such as knocking in a high load range without causing reduction in output, when a compression ratio is set at a high value in each cylinder in an in-line multicylinder internal combustion engine comprising a plurality of cylinders A1 to A3 having a single crankshaft in common. SOLUTION: Among the cylinders, a means is arranged which, in a high load range, extracts part of combustion (expansion) gas in the first half period of an explosion (expansion) stroke of an arbitrary cylinder out of the cylinders, and introduces it into a cylinder in a suction stroke or a compression stroke out of the other cylinders via a communicating passage 14. |
