PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly generate a highly accurate road map with information on the lane or the width of the lane and to generate a map easy to use for a user. SOLUTION: In the road map generating system 1, the position of a vehicle 2 is obtained by receiving a radio wave from a GPS(global positioning system) satellite 3, and a track generating means 14 generates the running track of the vehicle 2 from the position of the vehicle 2 and the time of receiving the radio wave, then a lane demarcation means 15 demarcates, from the running track and lane width information set for each one of the vehicle 2, the lane of the road from which the running track is obtained and a map generating means 16 generates the road map using the demarcated lane. |
