<p>The invention concerns an elastic metal gasket for supporting great clamping forces without deterioration of sealing performance by potential deformation. It consists of a metal core (12) enclosed in a more ductile outer sheath (13). The latter comprises, on the side of the clearance surfaces (16) which should be parallel and placed in opposite the surfaces (1) which enclose the gasket (10), a projecting portion (14) offset relative to the median axis (M) of the gasket, thereby preventing the decrease of contact pressure of the gasket on the surfaces (1) during the pressing process when the projecting portion is centred.</p> |
