<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means of presenting the concept of self-referenced holographic data recording. SOLUTION: This device comprises a method of recording a hologram on a holographic data storage medium, a medium produced by such a method, and a self-referencing holographic data storage system; a method of recording data in the holographic recording medium, comprising irradiating the medium with a data encoded first optical beam, optically directing the zero-frequency/ Fourier component of the first optical beam to form a second optical beam, and irradiating the medium with the second optical beam. In several embodiments, the self-referenced holographic data storage system has a single optical path directed toward the medium.</p> |
