PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sensor in which the variation of the sensitivity of pixels for each pixel is suppressed. SOLUTION: The optical sensor composed of a semiconductor photoreceptor element has an area, in which an impurity having a polarity which is different from that of a semiconductor substrate is diffused in its scribe. By causing the potential at the area where the impurity is diffused to float, the charges generated by the light made incident to the scribe of the sensor can be stored efficiently in the P-N junction, constituted of the area containing the diffused dopant and semiconductor substrate. Consequently, the charges generated by the light made incident to the scribe will not reach the P-N junctions which constitute the pixels of the sensor.
