PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile server unit acting like a web server that can be used not only for distribution of received or scanned image data but also for equally a mail address and a facsimile number so as to enhance the security more than that of a conventional technology. SOLUTION: The facsimile server unit 20 is a server unit connected to a plurality of client PCs 30 via a LAN 70. The facsimile server unit 20 has an HTTP server function that stores image data received or scanned by the facsimile server unit 20 to a storage location with a prescribed URL, a transmission function that transmits the stored image data to a prescribed destination, and a notice function that informs other prescribed destination about the storage location of the stored image data by using electronic mail, and a main control section 1 of the facsimile server unit 20 controls the transmission function and the notice function to be selectively used depending on the broadcasting destination.
