PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the preparation of an air fuel mixture in starting a starting process when a multicylinder direct injection-type internal combustion engine is directly started without a starter. SOLUTION: The fuel in a certain cylinder in an operating phase is ignited, and then the fuel is injected to a combustion chamber of another cylinder in an intake phase by a piston immediately thereafter to ignite the injected fuel even though it is still in the intake phase, in further processing of the starting process.
