PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of mechanical noise at loading/unloading of a head, with respect to a recording medium, as to a method for controlling a loading/unloading operation and a storage device. SOLUTION: In controlling the loading/unloading operation for loading or unloading a head, which is provided in an arm with respect to the recording medium by a ramped loading/unloading mechanism, this method and this storage device are constituted, so as to control a drive current which is to be supplied to a drive part which drives the arm to be changed slowly, at least at the operation of one side in a loading operation and an unloading operation.
