The stopper (1) is fitted in the neck of an opened and partially empty wine bottle (10) to keep the wine (11) fresh. It has a small diameter portion fitting in the neck of the bottle with a small air gap (2). A central channel (8) is connected to a chamber (4) in the large diameter upper part of the stopper. The chamber has a filter disc (7) at the bottom, with a powder or tablet filling (5) of sodium bicarbonate and vinegar or other acid wine products. A screw cap (6) closes the top of the chamber.
