PURPOSE: Anti-obesity polypeptides are provided, thereby the formation of an adipose tissue can be inhibited. Therefore, obesity can be inhibited. CONSTITUTION: An anti-obesity polypeptide having the 101 amino acids sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a gene encoding the anti-obesity polypeptide having the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 4 are provided. An anti-obesity polypeptide having the 86 amino acids sequence from the N-terminal of SEQ ID NO: 2, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a gene encoding the anti-obesity polypeptide having the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 5 are provided. An anti-obesity polypeptides having 71 amino acids sequence from the N-terminal of SEQ ID NO: 3, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a gene encoding the anti-obesity polypeptide having the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 6 are provided. The recombinant vector containing the above genes of SEQ ID NOs: 4, 5 and 6 are pcDNA3.0 SynLeptin-1 and -2 or pGEX4T SynLeptin-1 and -2 respectively.
