PURPOSE: A grip for fishing rod is provided which is capable of preventing slip of the grasping hand and contact of the hand with the fishing rod or a reel, and accurately controlling casting in fly-fishing. CONSTITUTION: The grip(21) is one for a fly-fishing rod(1) and comprises a lengthwise sleeve(22) attached to the fishing rod and a cap-shaped part(27) at the end of the sleeve. The cap-shaped part encloses a part of the neighborhood of the grip to prevent the user's hand(18) from slipping off the grip. The cap-shaped part is applied to the grips of conventional fly-fishing rods as an attachable optional part. By adding a flange at the lower end(25) of the cap-shaped part, the little finger of the rod-grasping hand prevents from touching to the reel(3). Thereby, the little finger put forward the flange and the caster provides the proper timing of casting and uses the rod safely.
