<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection mechanism of a simple structure, which has high detection reliability and can also cope with increase of the kinds of recording medium cassettes. SOLUTION: A 1st detection mechanism 29 for carrying out position detection of the recording medium cassettes 100, 200, 300 is provided in one side of a holder 13. A 2nd detection mechanism 31 for carrying out position detection and kind detection of the recording medium cassettes is provided in the other side of the holder; the 2nd detection mechanism is provided with the same numbers of optical sensors 26, 27, and 28 and detection arms 32, 33, and 34 as those of kinds of recording medium cassettes; each of detection arms 32, 33, and 34 is respectively provided with parts 32e, 33d, and 34d to be pressed by the recording medium cassette at each detection arm, and reflecting parts 35, 38, and 40 which reflect the detection lights emitted from the optical sensors; detection arms for use other than recording medium cassette having the minimum width are provided with shutter parts 33c and 34d, which shield the detection light emitted from the optical sensor for recording medium cassettes having one-grade smaller width; and the part to be pressed of each detection arm is located in the side of external end and the side close to the loading slot of the holder, in the order from the part to be pressed for the recording medium cassette having the maximum width.</p> |
