PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make higher the convenience and safety of a network terminal which is useful as a thin client for an application service provider and to make the maintainability and operability satisfactory. SOLUTION: A recording medium 1 like an IC card stored with various connection information needed to connect a terminal to a server through a network is loaded in the terminal 2. The terminal 2 reads the connection information out of the recording medium 1 and automatically sets it in an in-terminal storage area 24 (registry, etc.). When the recording medium 1 is unloaded, the connection information set in the terminal 2 is automatically erased. The recording medium 1 stores >=1 entry composed of a combination of connection information for connecting to >=1 service that >=1 server provides and a password used to use the service and the terminal 2 displays a selection picture for entries when the entries are stored on the recording medium 1.
