METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCTION OF MODIFIED POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both an apparatus for modified polyethylene terephthalate production, in which the content of crystalline resin is readily controlled and a method for modified polyethylene terephthalate production. SOLUTION: The apparatus for modified polyethylene terephthalate production has an approximately cylindrical apparatus body and an introduction pipe which has an opening part above the side of the apparatus body and is arranged so as to introduce a fluid in the circumferential direction into the inside of the apparatus body and 1-100% of the area of the inner wall of the apparatus body is coated with the crystalline resin. The method for modified polyethylene terephthalate production comprises using the apparatus for modified polyethylene terephthalate production, introducing pellets of polyethylene terephthalate from the introduction pipe of he production apparatus into the inside of the apparatus body by air transportation and rotating and dropping the pellets of the polyethylene terephthalate while continuously or intermittently bringing the pellets into contact with the crystalline resin covering the inner wall of the apparatus body so as to stick the crystalline resin to the surface of the pellets of the polyethylene terephthalate.
