PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a device, corresponding to a different field frequency based on a basic device corresponding to a certain field frequency, when a digital voice reproducing device as the basic device is present. SOLUTION: This digital voice reproducer is provided with an input for reading audio data having a specific field frequency, suitable for a basic format from a recording medium and a processing part 5' designed for processing audio data having a basic field frequency based on a basic format, and is equipped with a decoding means for performing decoding for the error correction. This decoding means performs decoding for the error correction of the audio data, suitable for the basic format by inserting a pause as necessary at a rate, corresponding to the rate of the specific field frequency to the basic field frequency, while operating with a clock corresponding to a prescribed sampling frequency. The processing part 5', incorporating a converting means, converts the audio data suitable for the basic format into the audio data suitable for a specific format and then outputs the audio data.
