PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manhole guard which is safe capable of preventing infiltration of water into a manhole even at the time of raining. SOLUTION: This manhole guard is provided with a cylindrical body 1 having an outer flange part 3 close to a lower end, and disposed to have an axial center in the vertical direction, and packing 2 engaged with the cylindrical body on the outer side of it in such a way as to be capable of getting in contact with a lower surface of the outer flange part 3. As the cylindrical body 1 is placed on a first step part 13 in a manhole mouthpiece 11, the packing 2 is elastically deformed between the outer flange part 3 and the manhole mouthpiece 11.
