PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the width of a road by decreasing dangerous constructions on a slope and construct sediment of a widened portion with simplified soil retaining members. SOLUTION: Tension members 2 are fixed to the mountain side of an existing road 1, and the tip parts thereof are led to a valley side slope. A foundation beam 6 constructed on the slope is connected to the tips of the tension members 2. Blocks 7 are stacked on the foundation beam 6, the tips of the blocks 7 are also connected to the tension members 2, and sediment 12 is filled in between the blocks 7 a slope ground. Columns 13 are vertically installed on the foundation beam 6 at proper intervals, and soil retaining members such as net-like sheet and cloth-like sheet are disposed between the columns 13 to support a sediment load at the rear of the members. Thereby, since the foundation beam 6 is constructed and the blocks 7 and columns 13 are vertically installed thereon, the installation is facilitated and dangerous constructions are decreased and, since the soil retaining members as net-like sheet are used, the construction is simplified.
