PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyurethane fiber by which the polyurethane fiber having high light resistance, resistance to nitrogen oxides, etc., having an advantage of having good heat setting properties and imparting a fittedness, a good appearance quality and an excellent wearing feeling can be obtained from a transparent polyurethane resin solution having good viscosity stability and free from a discoloration and a thickening without causing depolymerization by a heat. SOLUTION: This method for producing the polyurethane fiber involves reacting (a) an organic diisocyanate with (b) a high-molecular diol having 500-5,000 number-average molecular weight, (c) a low-molecular diol having <=300 molecular weight, and (d1) a monohydric alcohol having <=200 molecular weight in an organic solvent, and then adding a phenolic compound having >=600 molecular weight.
