PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a chlorine-resistant rubber composition exhibiting extremely little deterioration due to chlorine-based sterilizing agents even in a state brought into contact with or immersed in chlorinated tap water, i.e., cold, warm or hot tap water for a long period and having remarkably improved durability for a long period. SOLUTION: A rubber composition composed mainly of a rubber material, a filler, a vulcanizing agent and a vulcanization promoter is further compounded with (a) a fatty acid salt of a metal having >=2 valences and (b) an organotin compound.
