PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper handling device capable of improving positional accuracy stability of a sheet-like elastic member and keeping high paper conveying performance. SOLUTION: This paper handling device comprise a reversing route R3 for reverting conveyed paper and a diverging route for bringing out the reversed paper in a different direction from the bringing in direction. A paper diverging member 8 formed of a paper diverging Mylar(R) that is fixed on the reversing route side of a part diverged from the reversing route R3 of the diverging route and, allows passing of the paper through the reversing route R3 in delivering the paper by elastically deforming its tip projected into the reversing route R3 or to prevent passing of the paper through the reversing route R3 to the opposite delivering direction in reversing the paper and guides the paper to the diverging route side, and a projecting part for fixing the paper diverging member 8 in the elastically deformed state are disposed on a mounting surface for mounting the paper diverging member 8.
