<p>The invention relates to genetic sequences, which code for enzymes of the flavonoid metabolism, in particular for flavone synthase I (FNS I) or derivatives thereof. The invention also relates to the use of said sequences for carrying out the targeted modification of flower colouring, or of the flavone content or pattern in leaves, flowers and other tissue from plants and other organisms. The invention further relates to the use of the sequences in expression systems for synthesising natural, functional flavones for medical applications or similar, e.g. for cancer treatment, or for improving the human immune defence system.</p> |
