PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device or an image display device, which is capable of imaging or displaying images of high resolution. SOLUTION: This imaging device uses a setting of reducing an aliasing distortion component substantially to an irreducible minimum, through the use of zero and Nyquist frequency among the spatial frequencies, so that the imaging device is made capable of photographing images having resolution higher than that photographed by the physical number of pixels.
