PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which can attenuate the intensity of light with selected wavelength in a selected lighting area to an arbitrary extent and further properly protect a photosensitive area of a sample to be examined. SOLUTION: The device partially attenuates the light intensity (lightness) of the lighting of a microscope having, for example, a lighting optical path, a main objective, a light source, and a spectrum filter; and the spectrum filter (4) is so constituted that the light intensity values of different wavelength ranges (22) are attenuated to a specific extent (attenuated intensity Int 0) in mutually different spatial lighting areas (21).
