PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing (recycling) an unsaturated polyester resin from saturated polyester resin wastes, characterized by not requiring the purification of the product and containing raw material wastes at a large rate in a recycled resin, and to provide a device for producing the resin. SOLUTION: The method for producing the unsaturated polyester resin comprises reacting saturated polyester resin wastes with a glycol in the presence of an antuoxidant in the atmosphere of an inert gas to produce a glycol hydrolyses liquid, and then reacting the glycol hydrolysis liquid with a dibasic acid.
