PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition exhibiting an excellent dilatancy property, namely, having a low viscosity when kept still while rapidly increased in its viscosity on exertion of an external force at a certain level or higher, and useful over a wide range of fields such as a cosmetic such as a humectant, a massage agent and the like, an impact absorber, a material to be applied to a peripheral part of a crank of an automobile, and the like. SOLUTION: The dilatancy composition comprises the following components (A) and (B): (A) an O/W emulsion having an average particle size of oil drops of 0.2 μm or less and containing seramides or a fatty acid, and (B) a water-soluble polymer having an average molecular weight of at least 300,000.
