METHOD FOR RECOVERING COPPER FROM SLAG OF COPPER CONVERTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering copper from a copper converter slag in which the reduction efficiency of a reducing agent is high, and the generation of exhaust gas is small in recovering copper from the copper converter slag. SOLUTION: Solid reducing agent containing >=70% metallic iron is charged simultaneously with the blowing of coke and LPG. Since this solid reducing agent has high specific gravity, and stays in the slag to heighten the reduction ratio of Fe3 O4 . No gas is generated since reduction is deoxidation of iron oxide.
