PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for ameliorating pollinosis having excellent actions of ameliorating various symptoms of the pollinosis such as pruritus or inflammation in a mucous membrane of eyes and a nose or the skin caused by pollens, etc., of a Japanese cedar. SOLUTION: This composition for ameliorating the pollinosis is characterized as comprising (A) a 1-3C monohydric lower alcohol and (B) a water-swellable clay mineral. At least one kind selected from, e.g. methanol, ethanol, propanol and isopropanol is cited as the 1-3C monohydric lower alcohol. At least one kind selected from montmorillonite, hectorite, saponite and stevensite is preferred as the water-swellable clay mineral.
