A handbag (10) is disclosed which comprises an enclosure having opposed front and rear walls (12, 14), opposed sidewalls (16, 18), a bottom wall (20) and side walls defining a storage space. A closure panel (28) is associated with at least one of the walls and arranged for pivotal movement toward and away from the at least one wall so as to define a compartment therebetween. At least one first magnetically attractive device (30, 32) is associated with the least one wall. A function device (38) is arranged for separable attachment within the compartment, the function device (38) having associated therewith at least one second magnetically attractive device (34, 36) for removably attaching the functional device (38) within the compartment by positioning the first and second magnetically attractive devices in opposed relation so as to develop mutual magnetic attractive force between said at least one first and second magnetically attractive devices. A method of separably attaching a functional device such as a wallet to handbag is also disclosed.
