PURPOSE: To realize a PWM while keeping a scanning rate at the same speed as a single scanning of one filed. CONSTITUTION: In a method for driving a display device, each pixel is displayed with gradations of n-pieces of bits, and as to the gradation display of the individual pixels, each binary information from the highest bit to the lowest bit among the bits is sequentially rewritten with time, and in this case, when the information to be written is the i-th (i≠n) binary information counted from the lowest bit, the information is made to have a time interval of about (2¬i-1xcoefficient) to the precedently written binary information.
