PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thickness detector for paper sheets that prevents a degradation in displacement output caused by a mounting clearance variable with temperature. SOLUTION: For maintaining a given or smaller amount of interference even under a temperature-based change in a mounting clearance between a fixed roller mounting jig and a casing, an interference fit takes into consideration a thermal expansion of the fixed roller mounting jig of resin, and a casing- abutting chamfer portion of the fixed roller mounting jig of resin fitting in the casing has a dimension ensuring an interference fit of a dimensional tolerance taking into consideration a thermal expansion of the fixed roller mounting jig of resin, with the result that even under a temperature change, a given or smaller amount of clearance is maintained between opposed rollers to produce a stable output. |
