SOLUTION: When an SQ battery pack 1 is mounted, a battery pack distinction recess 131 is formed on the part of the SQ battery pack 1 corresponding to a battery pack distinction switch 214. Because of this recess, the battery pack type distinction switch 214 is not pressed by the bottom surface 115 of the SQ battery pack 1. Thus, as the switch 214 is not pressed, when the batteries are charged, it is recognized that the mounted battery pack is an SQ battery pack 1.
