The device for the smoothing of an irregular drive moment of especially a camshaft has a facility whereby the force of the cam follower system (27) is variable dependent upon RPM. The adjustment of the force is carried out by mechanical and/or hydraulic means. The cam follower system is constructed as a spring and weight oscillator with at least one spring (36,38) and driven by additional cams on the camshaft. As mechanical means adjustment is made of the spring travel, mass and angular position of the additional cams.
