PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp socket for straight tube fluorescent lamps, which can prevent that an installed feeling becomes bad, can set the lamp easily, and can prevent lamp from falling and unstable contact. SOLUTION: A lamp-pin contact element 3 has a convex part 27 toward a center axis direction of the lamp. The rotary element 2 has a pair of 1st convex parts 32 and a pair of 2nd convex parts 33, which overcome the convex part 27 at the time of the turning the lamp to set. The lamp pin 20 and the lamp-pin contact element 3 do not contact until the 1st convex part 32 overcomes the convex part 27 of the lamp-pin contact element 3, when inserting the lamp pin 20 and turning the rotating element 2. Moreover, it contacts until the 1st convex part 32 overcomes the convex part 27 of the lamp-pin contact element 3 and the 2nd convex part 33 gets over. Furthermore, when the 2nd convex part 33 overcomes the convex part 27 of the lamp-pin contacting element 3, it stops contacting.
