METHOD FOR ADJUSTING FOCUS OFFSET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting the focus offset of an optical disk device which reproduces information from the optical disk on which a groove and a land are connected at one point in one turn and to realize a reproducing operation having few jitter even immediately after a light spot passes through the connected point of the groove and the land. SOLUTION: The focus offset of the groove and the land is so corrected that the variation in a measured focus error signal is made small by deriving the focus offset which optimizes a prescribed evaluation value for the groove and the land, and measuring the focus error signal immediately after the light spot passes through the connected point of the groove and the land for a predetermined period of time.
